Overview
Here is the second title in my fun 'creature Q&A' series, again with fabulous illustrations from Nick East. Interview with a Shark and Other Ocean Giants Too (to give it its full title) takes us into the seas around the world to meet some of the biggest, scariest, strangest and most amazing marine animals on the planet.
Yes, with a bit of tinkering I managed to waterproof my tranimalator machine and dive into the depths to find out about the lives of a bull shark, orca, blue whale, sunfish, octopus, giant squid, conger eel, Manta Ray, narwhal and the mysterious anglerfish. I asked them what their lives are like, which things they enjoy eating, who to avoid and why they don't wear clothes! Their answers were very interesting and I learnt all sorts of things.
Just like with Interview with a Tiger, I discovered that these big fish and sea mammals have a lot to say (especially about humans, gulp...) and they also have real character. Some were cheeky, some moody, some shy, some boastful and some were just very funny.
This book will be especially enjoyed by ages 6-9 and anyone who is interested in wildlife, facts, our world, jokes, stopping pollution of the seas, reading, discovering things and wonderful artwork.
