It’s always exciting to have a new book out but it’s doubly exciting to have a book by a new publisher, especially one as good as Nosy Crow. They have teamed up with the National Trust who wanted a book of nature facts and jokes – and they very kindly asked me to write it. Here it is!
Ned the Nature Nut’s Nutty Nature Facts and Jokes may be the world’s most difficult-to-remember book title but don’t let that put you off! Ned is a cheeky red squirrel who quips his way through the pages of the book which are illustrated by the totally brilliant Sarah Horne.
The book is a feast of fascinating facts about animals and plants along with LOTS of giggly jokes, most of them brand new. The pictures are just stupendously good and I can’t wait to get this book into the hands of kids – I know they’re going to love it. Here are a few peeks (click to enlarge):
Nutty Ned (as I call it) will appeal to any child aged 6-11 with a sense of fun and an interest in nature. Actually I think anyone would like it! Watch out for the book in National Trust shops around the country and, of course, you can order it from your local bookshop (It’s only £4.99 too!).
Ned is being launched at Wray Castle Book Festival in the wonderful Lake District on Sat 4th March. I can’t wait to share some of Ned’s jokes with an audience!
