It’s always an exciting week for an author when a new book is published. My own memoir All Teachers Wise and Wonderful is out this Thurs and I’m really looking forward to hearing from readers. This is the second instalment of my series of Yorkshire Dales memoirs, following on from All Teachers Great and Small, and featuring the same locations and cast.
Cragthwaite village school is there with the same redoubtable teachers and staff, along with a new Class 3 full of notable child characters, of course. There are classroom disasters, village incidents, massive farmers, naggy neighbours, embarrassing tales and amusing happenings all the way, all based on true stories from the 1980s.
I’m very happy with the cover of this lovely hardback and the production quality is really high, as before. It’ll make a great present for a friend or someone from your family who likes funny, nostalgic tales, with brassy characters and a bit of daft Yorkshire grizzle thrown in. If you read it, please let me know what you think – my email address can be found at www.andyseed.com.
Finally, if you live in or near Yorkshire and enjoyed the first book in this series, why not come along to the launch of the new book on Saturday at Hoppers in Malton 10am-2pm. There are free drinks and nibbles, a discount on the hardback and a good buzz to enjoy in this excellent indie bookshop in an historic Roman market town.
